This Trend is Going on Bed Rest

Pink Slip Fashion Pajama Inspired Pants

Pajama inspired pants became a hit on the runway in 2012 and trickled down to the masses in 2013.

With a loose, sometimes baggy silhouette, comfort was huge on making these pajama inspired pants stick. Toss in a geometric multicolor print and you have a fashion trend that’s ready to be dolled up with a tee, blazer, and pumps.

Sadly, we’re starting to get a yawn from this lounge pant and its amorphous shape. So before you dismiss that snooze button, let’s take a look at why the pajama-inspired pant may be hitting the sack.

The pajama inspired pant in all its comfy glory is not enough to stop us from ignoring the fact that we lose our shape when we toss a pair on. I’m sure they even get mistaken for clown pants because they’re so baggy. For ladies that may not be endowed in the back, this pant would definitely be a misstep!

In addition, there’s only so many ways you can style the pajama inspired pant. Anything slouchy on top and you look like a slob.

A fitted color tee typically works well with a jacket, but other than that, this pant is definitely not transferable with other looks unless you opt for a non-printed pair, but at that point you might as well don sweats.

Ditch the pajama inspired pant and go for a palazzo pant or wide leg jean if you still want the comfort.

Pajama inspired pants are getting the PINK SLIP!

Pink Slip Ripped Jeans for Women

Pink Slip Overly Ripped Jeans for Women

Guest Post by Ashley Salinas

I’m not sure why anyone would want to be caught in overly ripped jeans. This trend needs to be pink slipped and quickly. Here’s why: there is no way to make this jean look good on anyone. Either you look like a stuffed sausage or you look like a hobo, and trust me when I say neither are flattering.

If you’re going for a boho-chic outfit, try a wide leg jean or pant for a bottom or a tassel hem wrap. Don’t be afraid to toss in a wide brimmed hat for extra drama. The ripped jeans for women look however just screams Tara Reid from a 90’s teen flick and though we’re bringing back the 90’s, this still isn’t part of the decades-repeating-itself revival.

Let’s say you do get the urge to slip on a pair of sliced up jeans, go easy and opt for a pair that maybe has two or three rips and not those that are going up and down the jean revealing your whole leg and then some. Minor wear and tear or distressed detailing totally gets the OK. It’s when we go for extremes that this style easily transitions into slop-fest territory.

Let’s save a trip to the mall for the overly ripped jeans look and Pink Slip this trend.

Ankle Cuff…More Like Ankle Monitor

Pink Slip Wide Ankle Cuffs

Pink Slip the Wide Ankle Cuff This Season

Pink Slip Fashion wouldn’t be surprised if the wide ankle cuff trend were started by Lindsay Lohan herself. Now that we’ve hopefully grown from our fashion crimes, we can shake down our shoe wardrobes and lock up these pumps for good. Ok…ok enough with the metaphors.

Stop Yourself from Getting Hi-Lo Dresses

PS

Hi-Lo Dresses Can Hitch the Next Available Ride (Out of our Closets)

Holiday season is upon us. And though we may be stressed with decorating, gift shopping, and spending quality time with members of the family we may normally avoid, like Aunt Sally with the weird cheese breath, finding the perfect holiday dress should not be on this list of avoided activities.

Lose the Pink Leggings

Not-so-pretty-in-pink, toss this dated look back to the 80’s along with all of its ripped, shredded, and animal print varieties. From hot pink to bubblegum, this blushing shade is no longer tickling us in any sort of way.

Unless you’re a pre-teen hitting a One Direction concert, it’s time to Pink Slip the pink legging and prep for fall with neutral tone options instead.
